still here …

… just not blogging while I take lessons in drawing, courtesy of Jeffery Camp, and the late Mr John Ruskin. The September stitchy challenge Autumn has taken a back seat but will be completed before the month is out.

The first image is a exercise in shading a stone using quill and ink. I had neither stone nor quill so resorted to a dip-in pen, drawing ink and a potato, a soft one that I’d forgotten was still in the vegetable rack. I think it looks more like a currant bun. The next one was just for fun, copying trying to emulate styles of illustrators of old using a Unipen fine line pen 0.1.

Been wondering what you were up to and missing your entries. Love the drawing. Are these designs destined to be stitched at some point?

Hadn’t thought about stitching them but who knows? I’m having fun with the drawing so the sewing machine hasn’t seen the light of day for a couple of weeks. Glad to see that you’ve got your blogging head on again – can’t wait to read your posts about the OU course!

I like it when people write to me
