stitchy challenge

Decided to do a little Photoshopping to bring up the colour on the C&D challenge but I’m not sure it worked that well! Time to read instruction manuals again.

Layers of various fabrics free-motion embroidered and the desert and sand dunes colour-enhanced with oil pastels. The camel was machine embroidered and then hand-appliqu├ęd.

no more pink shopping lists!

This is what happened to one of my favourite shirts because I forgot to remove a pink sticky from the pocket before the shirt was washed. Aaaaaargh!

hot day photographs

A few days ago I noticed a large thistle plant near my home. I didn’t manage to photograph it until yesterday, by which time it had been chopped down, hence the faded colours in the images below. I placed the cut portion against the hedge to take the photographs. I was on my way to keep fit class with time to spare so took the other photographs along the way.

I wish I knew the names all these plants/flowers/trees that I photograph! If you know, share the knowledge!

pigeon in pink

When pigeons built a ‘nest’ on my front door mat (honest!) from two twigs and a feather and then laid an egg, I was not amused. That was last year. This year I am content to photograph them like this one I snapped yesterday through my balcony railing with the camera propped against the door jam for stability.

day 22 photos

Got some funny looks from one or two people while I clicked away between the showers and an elderly lady asked me what was so fascinating about a dandelion.
